In general, medical Cannabis is considered safe to use, it is difficult to reach a state of overdose when using Cannabis, and no fatalities were reported as a result of Cannabis use. In cases of overdosing on Cannabis, the patient may experience symptoms such as anxiety, panic to the point of paranoia, extreme confusion, accelerated heart rate and high blood pressure, nausea and vomiting, hallucinations and delusions. Some populations are at a higher risk of experiencing unwanted side effects and it is recommended they consult with their treating physician and perform a risk assessment prior to starting treatment with Cannabis.
