What is Cannabis in general and what is Medical Cannabis in particular?

Cannabis is a plant. It is used for making fabric fibers and oils, and its seeds may be used as a food source. This plant has been known for its medicinal traits for thousands of years, and it is possible to consume its dried inflorescences for various medicinal purposes. The plant contains several chemical substances which have a therapeutic effect, among which are cannabinoids such as THC, which have a psychoactive effect, it aids in sleeping and acts as an analgesic, and CBD which is not psycho-active but has an anti-inflammatory role. In addition, the plant contains flavonoids and terpenes, the effects of which on the therapeutic effects of Cannabis are currently being studied.
